Tororo Cement Ltd was among the 13 companies, which got awards for quality products and services.

The awards were given out by the Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) at the inaugural ‘Ani Mukozi?’ The People's Verdict quality awards at Hotel Africana.

Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu, the Minister of State for Trade and Industry handed over the awards.
Kamuntu said Ugandans had been victims of poor quality goods and services and KACITA had given consumers a chance to vote for their preferences.

"The warning has been sounded and I hope everyone in the product and service supply chains are listening. The consumer who is your boss has indicated his/her preference and how they want to be served. Take heed."
"You are motivating entrepreneurs and our people who aspire to quality honest work," Kamuntu said, adding that KACITA should encourage more companies to participate in the award ceremony.
