Tororo Cement repairs roads

Tororo Cement Limited TCL, has spent sh600m to construct bridges and repair roads in Nakapiripirit district. TCL financial controller Brij Gaghrani said last week that the construction of bridges on the Amudat-Katikekile road where TCL collected Limestone for cement production. The bridges we have constructed include Kanyangaren near Amudat trading centre and Loro Bridge along the road to Katikekile.

We have also started constructing the bridge between Tokora Hospital and Nakapiripirit district headquarters, Gaghrani said. He said TCL signed a memorandum of understanding with Nakapiripirit district administration to construct the bridge and maintain the road that was damaged by trucks carrying limestone from Katikekile sub-county, Moroto district.

The memorandum signed on July 24, bound TCL to complete the construction of the bridges between Toroko and Nakapiripirit district headquarters. Nakapiripirit district will liase with security organs to ensure security on site, the memorandum stated. It also stated that the district would widen the roads and construct drains, while TCL gravelled the road and installed culverts
